Guide
Installation and first steps
Your phone, on your laptop. Files, contacts, messages and notifications from your iPhone, straight on your computer, with nothing installed on the phone.
Requirements
What you need
- Windows 10 (version 1809 or newer) or Windows 11, 64-bit
- about 200 MB of free disk space
- for file transfer: phone and laptop on the same Wi-Fi network
- for contacts, messages and notifications: Bluetooth on the laptop and a paired iPhone
Step 1
Installation
You download a single file and double-click it. You do not need .NET or anything else installed beforehand — everything is bundled into the installer. The installation does not ask for an administrator password: the app installs for your account only, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\EZconnect. It creates a Start menu shortcut, an uninstaller beside the app, and a normal entry under Installed apps.
- 1
Download and double-click
Download EZconnect-Setup.exe and double-click it.
- 2
Get past the blue screen
Windows will show a blue screen: "Windows protected your PC". THIS IS NORMAL. It appears for any program without a purchased digital signature. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
- 3
Choose the language
Choose the language the app should start in: Romanian, English or Spanish. You can change it any time from inside the app, with the language button.
- 4
Tick the shortcut and install
Tick the desktop shortcut if you want one, then press Install.
"Windows protected your PC"
The warning appears because the installer has no purchased code-signing certificate, not because anything is wrong with it. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".

File transfer — the simplest feature
Works on any computer, with or without Bluetooth. Nothing to install on the phone.
- 1
Open the Files screen
Open EZconnect and go to the Files screen.
- 2
Start the transfer
Press "Start transfer". Two QR codes appear.
- 3
Accept the firewall rule
The first time, Windows may ask for administrator confirmation for the firewall. Accept it — without that rule the phone cannot reach the laptop.
Scan the first code with the iPhone camera. Safari opens by itself. Pick your photos or files and press Send. They land in Downloads\EZconnect (you can pick another folder with "Change folder").
Add files to the list with "Add", scan the second code and download them on the phone.
If the page does not open on the phone
- make sure it is on the same Wi-Fi network, not on mobile data
- if your network is set to "Public" in Windows, switch it to "Private"
- if the app shows the firewall warning, press "Allow"
Step 3
Contacts, messages and notifications
Bluetooth on the laptop and a paired iPhone are required. File transfer works without them.
Pair the iPhone
In EZconnect: Settings → "Pair a new phone". On the iPhone open Settings → Bluetooth and LEAVE THAT SCREEN OPEN — the phone is only visible while that screen is open.
Required after pairing, on the iPhone
Settings → Bluetooth → tap (i) next to the laptop’s name
- Sync Contacts— unlocks the address book and call log
- Show Notifications— unlocks messages
Without those two switches the phone refuses the data even when connected.
For app notifications
For app notifications (WhatsApp, mail and so on), iOS requires that YOU adopt the laptop from the phone, the way you would a watch.
- 3.1in EZconnect: Settings → "Make the laptop visible on iPhone"
- 3.2on the iPhone: Settings → Bluetooth → under "Other devices" tap the laptop
- 3.3accept the pairing AND the question about notifications
No surprises
What it does not do
We say this up front so you do not download it for nothing.
It does NOT mirror iPhone app screens
Waze, Spotify or Google Maps will not appear on the laptop. Real CarPlay carries that screen over a closed Apple protocol that requires MFi certification and an authentication chip physically built into the device. There is no technical or legal way to do that on an ordinary laptop — not for us, not for anyone.
It does NOT play iPhone music through the laptop speakers
iOS simply does not offer the laptop in its audio output list.
Uninstalling
Uninstalling
Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → EZconnect → Uninstall. Or Uninstall.exe in the application folder.
- 1
Open Settings
Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- 2
Find EZconnect
Find the EZconnect entry in the list of installed apps.
- 3
Uninstall
Press Uninstall. Or run Uninstall.exe in the application folder.
Files received from the phone STAY in Downloads\EZconnect. The phone’s Bluetooth pairing is left untouched.
Troubleshooting
If something does not work
The Settings screen in the app shows exactly what the phone allowed and why, plus a live log.
The page does not open on the phone after scanning the code.
Make sure it is on the same Wi-Fi network, not on mobile data. If your network is set to "Public" in Windows, switch it to "Private". If the app shows the firewall warning, press "Allow".
The phone does not show up when pairing.
On the iPhone open Settings → Bluetooth and leave that screen open — the phone is only visible while that screen is open.
The phone is connected, but contacts and messages stay empty.
On the iPhone: Settings → Bluetooth → tap (i) next to the laptop’s name → turn on "Sync Contacts" and "Show Notifications". Without those two switches the phone refuses the data even when connected.
App notifications never reach the laptop.
iOS requires that YOU adopt the laptop from the phone: in EZconnect, Settings → "Make the laptop visible on iPhone", then on the iPhone Settings → Bluetooth → under "Other devices" tap the laptop and accept the pairing AND the question about notifications.
The application log
The Settings screen in the app shows exactly what the phone allowed and why, plus a live log. The log is also written to:
