Support the project

The app is free. The costs behind it are not.

EZconnect has no subscription, no ads and sells no data — for the simple reason that there is no data to sell: everything runs on your own computer. A few real costs remain, and this page states them plainly.

01

Why there is no monthly bill

Most "free" apps have a server eating money every month, and that is where the ads and the subscriptions come from. There is nothing like that here.

There is no server

Transfers run directly between phone and laptop across your own network. We pay for no bandwidth, no storage, and keep nothing in a cloud.

There are no accounts

With no accounts there is no database to maintain, no passwords to protect, and no personal data to sell to anyone.

There are no ads

An app that reads your notifications and your address book has no business carrying advertising networks. Full stop.

02

What it does cost

The figures below are estimates at 2026 prices, not invoices. They are here so you know exactly what a donation buys.

Code-signing certificate
about $10 / month
Domain and DNS
about €15 / year
Hosting the 148 MB installer
depends on traffic

The first line is the one that matters most to you: it removes the "Windows protected your PC" warning at install time. The installer stays exactly the same — Windows simply stops having a reason to distrust it.

03

Donations are not live yet

The payment accounts are still being set up. Until then, the help that matters most is below, and it is free.

Helping without money

Honestly, over time these help more than a coffee does.

  • Tell a friend who has an iPhone and a Windows laptop.
  • Post about it on a forum or in a group where people look for transfer tools.
  • Send a report when something breaks — a well-described bug is worth a day of work.
  • If you speak a language we do not cover yet, help with the translation.

The promise

The app stays free and complete. No "Pro" edition appears, no transfer limits get added, and no advertising arrives. If any of that ever changes, it will be written here, in the open, before it happens.
