For macOS

EZconnect for Mac — your phone, on your Mac

Send photos and files between your phone and your Mac by scanning a QR code. Plus iPhone contacts and messages. Nothing installed on the phone.

Not sure? Apple menu → About This Mac. On the "Chip" line: Apple M1/M2/M3/M4 → the first one; Intel → the second.

RIGHT-CLICK, not double-click

After unzipping, right-click "Instalare EZconnect.command" and choose Open. If macOS says it cannot verify the developer, press Open again. The app has no purchased Apple certificate, which is why the warning appears — it says nothing about what the program does.

01

Installation

  1. 1Download the archive that matches your processor and unzip it.
  2. 2RIGHT-CLICK "Instalare EZconnect.command" → Open. Not double-click.
  3. 3In the window that appears, press Open again.
  4. 4The script prepares the app and copies it into Applications. Done.

What differs from the Windows version

File transfer, contacts, call history and messages all work the same. Three things are missing because macOS does not allow them — and we say so up front, so you do not download it for nothing.

  • You cannot dial from the Mac. macOS keeps the phone’s hands-free channel to itself — the very channel through which call audio reaches the Mac’s speakers. Start the call on the phone and talk through the Mac.
  • iPhone notifications do not appear inside the app. On a Mac the system delivers them itself, through Handoff, and you see them in the macOS notification centre.
  • Pairing is not done from the app but from System Settings → Bluetooth.

03

Requirements

  • macOS 11 Big Sur or newer
  • a Mac with an Apple (M1–M4) or Intel processor
  • about 300 MB of free disk space
  • for file transfer: phone and Mac on the same Wi-Fi network — any phone, iPhone or Android
  • for contacts and messages: Bluetooth and an iPhone. Without them, file transfer still works.

04

Verify the downloaded file

If you want to be certain the archive arrived intact, compare the checksum. In Terminal:

shasum -a 256 EZconnect-macOS-AppleSilicon.zip
EZconnect-macOS-AppleSilicon.zip5F3244CAA197307F2D702BD17D35480E2DA714A000D9864904A44F4FB90B5EBC
EZconnect-macOS-Intel.zip53C0C720EF81F4E08875AD301D5B9094E1868627F6EA6F1F99DBA7A452262D19

If the printed value matches the one above, the file is intact. If it differs, download it again.
